a smattering

So most of you know this but some of you don't so I will tell you. I am back up at HC in the wonderful state of NY. I really am not sure I like NY for a few reasons but I think I really should. I am not sure I feel like writing right now but I ran out of other options. I want to take a nap but I can't here because the cleaning person is in here. She will soon leave though. I do not want to go for a walk, it is colder and crappy outside. I do not want to do WA work and I really really don't want to do stuff for my Literature class. I am sick of being forced to read at the moment. What's that you say? Oh, I know, I have at least a whole 'nother year of it. Stinkin' hoop jumping. So I have a few quotes that I found that I sorta like. Since this entry is utterly and completely random here I go. "I am glad I did it, partly because it was well worth it, and chiefly because I shall never have to do it again." Mark Twain

That sums up my thought on getting my masters degree, maybe, maybe my doctorate. It also sums up every single class I have taken here at HC, ya, I'm sure of it. Would you like another?
Good. "I think," said Christopher Robin, "that we ought to eat all our provisions now, so we don't have so much to carry." AA Milne

I agree with that too. Rationing is a good thing though. Rationing clothing for example so I don't have to do laundry as often, and showering, I ration showers too.

Another one I like but I am not sure I completely agree with.

Go my sons, burn your books, [spanish please]
buy yourself stout shoes. [moraine AT's]
Get away to the mountains, the deserts [the Grand and the grand gulch]
and the deepest recesses of the earth.
In this way and no other will you gain
a true knowledge of things and
of their properties.

Seter Severinus, 1571 C.E. [mine]

So now I think I going to go take my nap. My past week has been the following.
Class 8-11. Read till lunch. Lunch. Read. Dinner. Life guarding 6-10. Study. Bed.
This craziness stops soon. Lord Help.

as I fall to the couch and cover up with gramblanket and tunes,

thoughts that come with tea

Play
It is raining right now everyone, has been since about 2 o'clock. spending a full day on the ropes course can be brutal. Not battle brutal but no walk in the park. Being in the rain for 5 hours can seem like forever, just this morning I was awake and ready to go, now it seems like that morning was a few days ago.

So I take you back to here. That day was one of the first few days as a college student again. Really the first few days that I was a real college student. Community college counts for credit and my associates degree but it is not college life. Community college was spent with 15 hours a week being in class, 16 hours working with Bob, 10-12 working at Sears, and 4 working for PCI. 45 hours. heck. cake walk. Where did that phrase come from anyway? Back. I don't know my grades yet from Houghton, but my first semester is done. Much harder than the other BC3/work days. So I know I passed Spanish class, the rec classes where fun and easier. Bib Lit wasn't so bad and Macroeconomics was, well, let's just say bad. It was bad. However, I am done with this semester and I survived. Sure you college kids are like big deal who cares d? I do. It was hard, it is hard, and I am proud of myself. Tomorrow I get to go home for 3 days, then back to school for "summer" months doing the school thing and the work thing. I hope I survive that too! Forward.

Today was awesome, and it is only the eveningtime. It is because of groups like todays that I am an outdoor recreation major. Today is one of the reasons why I do what I do and am who I am. I don't believe most of my readers will ever understand that. I do not think that you will believe 8 hours on the RC can be one of the most rewarding/beneficial things that you do. Alternative education is where it is at. Lockhaven has a master program for it, an option for Dan someday. Higher Education Masters from Geneva or Westminster. More Options. STOP

RESUME

My tea. I have a new mug. It will be my new mug until I get another one, then it will become an old mug. It is pottery, made from a HC student. Constant Comment today. Yeck, it has been a Constant Comment semester thanks to a bro and sis-in-law. It is good. IT is needed because I was wet and cold (still am) and I wanted some. I had Step Stew for dinner tonight. I love step stew, I may just have to make some for my family on Saturday night when I am home, time will tell. I have decided recently ( a dave matthews album) that I am not very good with comma usage and using too, also, effect, affect. I have a book that I read a bit but I still forget. PAUSE

REWIND

last night I played video games until 2:30. I lost. This morning I woke up and gosh gosh surprse surprise, i was tired. no really this morning there was pollen all over everything outside, a good 1/16" coating on everything. I HATE POLLEN. So needless to say, I am on my 4th Tylenol Allergy Complete, i think I kicked the pollen, at least for today, the rains should help.
